A cold winters jab
A man with no mind to be had.
Stepped out just a tad.
From the warmth of his home.
Into a great Dome.
A dome of cold air.
He walked with great care.
So that way it won't know.
He was a foe.
Suddenly hit with a jab.
A frightening cold stab.
Falling to the ground.
But he made no sound.
Taking his breath.
Leaving nothing left.
Taunting the man.
How he could not even stand.
Winter has won.
Don't worrie my son.
We will rise again.
Stepped out just a tad.
From the warmth of his home.
Into a great Dome.
A dome of cold air.
He walked with great care.
So that way it won't know.

Falling to the ground.
But he made no sound.
Taking his breath.
Leaving nothing left.
Taunting the man.

Winter has won.
Don't worrie my son.
We will rise again.

The year was 2081
The year was 2081. The people were in sync with one another after years of peace. At one time the world was scared and burned from a war of all people that had reached to the stars overhead. Nowhere was secure and the sky turned black with smog and ash. Then people turned to the sky to escape this dying world. They worked together to save lives and then they were gone. Into the sky went the people, enemy and friend together at last. Now they live in harmony among the stars, where they will stay and forget the past. In bliss they have lived for some time. At first growing from nothing to stay alive, not knowing if they would survive.

To Build a Fire Review
People think that we are the one things in the world that is needed the most to make everything right. While we are really the opposite of that, the earth would do much better without us here. People think that it is us vs. the earth and they say we will win the battle because we have made technology that will help us. I think that we will lose and the story "To Build a Fire by Jack London" shows this very well.
As the human race has grown in its knowledge we seem to think that we know what is best for the earth and the things that are on it. But really we are just another tiny "blip" on the face of the planet. Because we have made tech advancements we think that the rest of the world is incapable of taking care of its self. It's like we just use technology to put space between us and the rest of the world. Mother Theresa put this best when she said "Technology is a way of organizing the universe so that man doesn't have to experience It." she was right then and now. The man in the story thinks that the fire is a way for him to beat the cold but it is really his way of getting away from nature.
Nature is an untamable force that people can't stop even if they tried. Robert Green Ingersoll has even said “In nature there are neither rewards nor punishments; there are consequences.” Meaning that doing good is not rewarded but you are also not punished instead there are consequences. The earth won't take much more of us and we can't take the time to fix what we have done. In the story "To Build a Fire" the man thinks that nature is weak and can't do much, but he soon found out how bad it could be. As he quickly learned it was much too cold to be walking in the frozen waste land of the Yukon.
The man in the story tried to face nature head on and win even thought he was very easily out matched. Try as he might the man could not get one thing to go his way after he faced off against nature. Nature is something that can be your best friend or your worst enemy. The Philosopher Aristotle once said "Nature does nothing uselessly." if nature makes it cold then it will be cold and if it makes it hot then the same thing will happen. The man in the story didn’t understand this very well because he still challenged nature.
In the end nature bests the man and he meets his fate. Things tend to repeat themselves in nature, so would we beat nature? No one really knows that answer but let’s not find out anytime soon. The answer may not be something that we want to know.

As I brought my dog into the house I realized that his once snow white hair was now a sickly black and brown because of his trip through the many mud puddles that covered the ground. These puddles were at least 4-5 inches deep and a few feet across. My dog is only about 1 1/2 feet tall from his feet to the top of his head so this is like a little swimming pool to him. He will run out the door just to jump into a sticky gooy mess. The end result is a small wet muddy dog that leaves foot prints all over. I looked down at him and said
"you little mud ball I think you need a bath."
I guess he didn't like that to much because he looked at me and barked then ran. After chasing him for near half an hour the mud was dry and he could no longer slip through my hands. After starting the water it was apparent that he had his mind set to getting free. He flipped around and flopped in the water until it was all brown.
"I guess you all wash up now"
After that last bad joke I though that it was best to dry him off and get on with my day.

Gaming
Gaming online is a challenge of will.
Playing the match has a great thrill.
Fighting for points with every kill.
Completing your tasks with only your skill.
Running the ranks, the battles down hill.
Maxing the charts, king of the hill.
Being the best is a challenge of will.

Age
As a child it is easy to find the time to run and play, but as we age it seems as though those times they go away. To see the moon and stars above shining in the night. Or watch a bird learn to spread it's wings and fly. As we grow we come to know the things we didn't see.(Mark Moore)
The poem "As a child" by Mark Moore is about how when you are young things seem easy. But as you age you find things are harder to do. Life is progressively harder on you as you age but some things can be better.
When we all are young things seem easy and the world is a fun place were you get every thing you want. Small kids like my cousin make friends easily with little effort. She knows nearly everyone in the city of Brandenburg even people my aunt and uncle don't know. They always say that "She never meets a stranger" like most kids. If you have ever seen a little kid in a room full of people then you know this very well. Even after a long and trying day kids get to go home to a warm and loving home where things seem to melt away.
As we age things seem to be more difficult than they were before. The line from the poem that shows this best is "But as we age it seems as though those times they go away". What he is saying is that as we get older things like playing with our friend seem to be put in the back seat of our lives. We no longer have the time to do things we love but are forced to do things for our future.
After a certain point in our live we age enough to know the thing our parents knew. The line from the poem that puts this best is " As we grow we come to know the things we didn't see". He is trying to say that when we get older we learn why we couldn't stay up late or buy that knew toy. Our parents always knew things we didn't and they kept it that way to help us in the future.
The finial stage of life is after all the stress of day to day life is over and we grow old to the days where we can relax. Things seem easy again like before. My mom always says "life comes full circle, you start in diapers and end in them". This is the same for everyone even you and me.
